It also contains programs included in separately sold Red Hat Cluster Suite and Red Hat Developer Suite. Lineox has removed and replaced all files of Red Hat Enterprise Linux which have restrictive copyright by Red Hat, Inc. Lineox has also tried to remove all user-visible references to Red Hat in Lineox Enterprise Linux. The most notable difference between Lineox Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is the support options provided by Red Hat, Inc. Lineox, Inc. does not provide any support for Lineox Enterprise Linux with the base product. Lineox, Inc. however plans to provide binary package updates for Lineox Enterprise Linux as long as Red Hat, Inc. provides updates for Red Hat Enterprise Linux in source package format.

Mandriva Linux is a friendly and popular Linux operating system which specializes in ease-of-use for both servers and the home/office. It has a nice gui installation wich makes it one of the easiest to install. Uses RPM to manage the packages and has a graphical approach to system administration.

The openSUSE project is a community program sponsored by Novell. Promoting the use of Linux everywhere, this program provides free, easy access to openSUSE, a complete Linux distribution. The openSUSE project has three main goals: make openSUSE the easiest Linux for anyone to obtain and the most widely used Linux distribution; leverage open source collaboration to make openSUSE the world's most usable Linux distribution and desktop environment for new and experienced Linux users; dramatically simplify and open the development and packaging processes to make openSUSE the platform of choice for Linux developers and software vendors.

Pie Box Enterprise Linux AS is a Linux distribution that is derived from the open source software made available by Red Hat, Inc. Pie Box Enterprise Linux AS is NOT affiliated with, produced, maintained or supported by Red Hat, Inc. in any way. Pie Box Enterprise Linux AS is fully compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS. The differences between the Pie Box Enterprise Linux AS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS distributions are limited to two packages. The images in these packages have been modified to remove Red Hat, Inc. trademarks in order to comply with their Subscription Agreement (EULA). Specifically these packages are "redhat-logos" and "anaconda-images", all other binaries remain unchanged.

Rubix Linux is a Linux distribution that was originally derived from Slackware. It is designed to support mission critical hardware and be very admin friendly. It uses Arch Linux's pacman for simplified package management with dependency resolution. It has a revamped init system, maintaining the BSD style, but adding modularity. It compiles packages with SSP (a.k.a. ProPolice) and PIE (Position Independent Executable) whenever possible to increase security.

SL is a Linux release put together by various labs and universities around the world. It's primary purpose is to reduce duplicated effort of the labs, and to have a common install base for the various experimentors. The base SL distribution is basically Redhat Enterprise Linux, recompiled from source. Our main goal for the base distribution is to have everything compatible with Enterprise, with only a few minor additions or changes. An example of of items that were added are Pine, and OpenAFS. Our secondary goal is to allow easy customization for a site, without disturbing the Scientific Linux base. The various labs are able to add their own modifications to their own site areas. By the magic of scripts, and the anaconda installer, each site is be able to create their own distributions with minimal effort. Or, if a users wishes, they can simply install the base SL release.

Slamd64 Linux is a port of Slackware to the x86_64 architecture. It supports both AMD64 and EM64_T processors. It mimics Slackware as closely as possible, except for moving libraries to /lib64 and /usr/lib64, allowing easy 32-bit compatibility.

Tao Linux (pronounced 'dow' Linux) is a project to build a free Linux distribution from the sources used in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux product line. The target market is either experienced system administrators who would like freely available binaries of this code, or end users who are interested in experimenting with enterprise functionality. Besides being mostly compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, it also includes software packages such as Eclipse and clustering tools not found in the base RHEL products.
